About Us and What we do
The Yunus Abioye Oyeleke Foundation (YAOF) was incorporated on the 22nd of June 2006 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act No. 1 of 1990 with registration number CAC/IT/No. 21190.
Late Prince Yunus Abioye Oyeleke established the Foundation to immortalize the names of his parents, Prince Sunmonu Olarinoye Oyeleke and Alhaja Sa’adatu Adebola Oyeleke. A reconstructed old building at 88 Olofa Way, Offa, Kwara State, where they lived in their life time, was named Sunmonu Oyeleke Centre (SOC). Annual Islamic Ramadan lectures/Tafsir and other related activities, now takes place at SOC. A proposed tertiary institution is also to be sited at Igbonna, Oyun local government area of Kwara State, the home town of his late mother.
Since it’s inception and in line with it’s other objectives, YAOF has implemented and supported programs, community projects and not-for-profit services such as the following:
(a) Past and ongoing programs:
- Free eye checks (usually once a year)
- Faith related enlightenment lectures/Tafsir
- Occasional education financial assistance to indigent students
- Occasional donation to Islamic org. and education establishments
- Occasional ad-hoc contribution to Community Trust Funds
(b) Executed community projects:
- Re-construction of 10.5km Offa-Igbonna road (completed 2015)
- Others
(c) Facility offering not-for-profit services:
- Yunus Abioye Oyeleke Eye Clinic, Offa (established since 2010)
